Suffocating

These burdens are not my own,
You wanted to leave me an inheritance yet you leave me heartbroken.
I am empty inside, my happiness is stolen.
I have your debts and my dreams.
I cannot be me because it's a sin.
The problem is that beast comes from within.
I long to be happy, but that joy would hurt you.
You say that you accept me...as long as I keep quiet.
My stomach tightens, my eyes water, my words will not echo what my heart wants to say!
I am forced to live my life in the shadows.
Is that really living? What have I done?
I mean, besides love someone. My emotions are a rollercoaster ride. I hate this life.

Stranded

My chest is tightened,
My grip on reality loosens.
Am I a mad man?
What is happening?
Who can I talk to?
Am I going crazy?
I don't trust anyone,
I'm such a whore!
All that I've worked for,
Is it all worth it anymore?
Where the hell did you go?
I wasn't ready for you to leave me!
Your presence is requested, no demanded!
Please don't leave me feeling so stranded!

Fearless

     The boy is fearless,
He sees the beauty in all,
     He seeks adventure.

Living

"I'll do it tomorrow." Tomorrows are not guaranteed.

"I can do better." Have you given your all? Indeed.

"I want to go there." Why wait? I plead.

Live for today. For tomorrow, leave an experience for others to read.

Agony

Drained,
I feel no more energy, I lay here defeated.
Pained,
For no reason you changed, you left me mistreated.
Constrained,
I can't find my voice, it's lost in an echo.
Maimed,
I gave you my song, then you changed the tempo.
Hurt,
I loved you, you tossed that aside.
Fear,
I took a leap of faith, you wounded my pride.
Anger,
I wanted you, you wanted less.
Agony,
You left me to suffer, No More Will I Stress!

Strong

Defined by your muscles,
rather than your poise.

You sit there quietly,
lost among the noise.

You fear that nobody sees you,
but that shouldn't count.

In the end you are stronger,
You Will Surmount.

A Well Respected Man

He did what he was told,
this well respected man.

He worked to please so many,
this well respected man.

He pushed to make ends meet,
this well respected man.

As time passed, he grew old,
this well respected man.

His work was no longer handy,
this well respected man.

Now he lies there, cold and alone,
this well respected man.
